During our walk in the ‘Parco Storico di Monte Sole in Marzabotto (Italy) we discovered this beautiful lizard. My son who loves animals a lot, took the picture. I don’t know what kind of lizard this is…

I am sure that some local Italians can tell you – if it is largish, something like 1 and 1/2 inches by 7 or 8, and mostly green, it is probably a lizard called “il ramarro” – it used to scare me when I was little, it seemed so big compared to the regular tiny brown lizards – but I do think they are harmless and eat mostly insect pests that you don’t want in your garden… beautiful creature indeed.
